My name is Lauren. I am a busy, working, mother, wife and homeowner. I have very little time that is just for me, as many people can relate to, so I figured why not write about it? The irony does not escape me, it is in fact the point of this blog: how to save time and how to waste it.
I think in the age of social media that we are in, we all try to be Martha Stewart as best we can. It doesn't take too long to realize that Martha must be dripping with time or at the very least have someone hired specifically to make Home Depot runs. The thing we all know she has an abundance of as compared to 99% of the nation is money. As much as I would love to have $100 to spend on a piece of fish, it's just not in the budget. I have always truly enjoyed all things domestic: cooking, crafting, designing, decorating, and until I had a kid and 2 dogs, cleaning. If you come across me on a day when I want to clean these days..back away real slow and don't make eye contact. Getting back to the point, as much as I want to live up to the domestic goddess persona in the age of pinterest, time and money will always be the deciding factor on how or if something gets done around my house.
While we're getting to know each other, if it isn't obvious already, I rarely take anything seriously and I am almost always the one saying the thing she shouldn't say. I make "that's what she said" jokes to my in-laws and generally the crickets chirp to mask the awkward silence that follows. That's me. The awkward silence girl. I am the lady Michael Scott (if you know that reference and you chuckled a little, you should subscribe to this blog now).
